Adventures with Sinali

When two wanderlust friends besotted with all things wild and natural, after two decades of adventuring, gathering life-experiences get back to their first calling as a venture, it takes a beautiful name called Sinali. And takes on a life as a community.

Sinali means heaven.

A Sinali experience is an escapade into the hyper-natural world. Rare sightings on 4x4 drives through the reserve forests, a flintstone fired, bush meal around a campfire or midnight star-gazing on a whim – the world of Sinali is full of life, unusual discoveries and nature’s secrets wrapped in wonders.

The Sinali community, grounded by nature, with eyes and ears close to the earth are sentient in the way they grasp and interpret the signs and ciphers of the natural world.

Urban-weary eyes and senses dulled by the bustle of the cities we live in, seek to escape. And an escape this is, into a world that feels other-worldly, animist and so right by the earth. If this is not paradisical, then what is?

This is alternative living, the Sinali way.

Untamed Experiences.

Sinali’s world of experiences have nature-swept adventure pugmarks all over it. The promise is of roads less travelled if not at times, journeys that don’t even start with paths. Adventures here are off beat. Knowledge is from the grassroots. And the heart stays untamed.

The founding team and its community are woven around their mutual love for the natural world and a desire to be a bridge to its wonders, its secrets, and its habitats. Be it pastoral or be it wild, the Sinali team brings in an earthy and grounded wisdom to interpret and curate life within its environments.

Sinali’s interests are about first principles.

Sinali’s ventures and interests are centred around things that fundamentally matter to an earth-first world. Sustainability here is a practice, a living & working principle. Sinali takes many forms, collects many passions. With a beautiful riverside wilderness lodge (their first address) that is being brought to life at Kanha in India’s jungle heartland, curating experiential tours and trails across some of the most fascinating terrains, putting together the first of its kind naturalist curriculum in India, working with diverse indigenous communities to curate a world that stays rooted in its origins – the world of Sinali is one where all hands are on deck and the heart is in the right place.

What’s life at Sinali?

Morning fresh and untemplated.

Adventure with us.
Or join our community.

Sinali promises a life journey, not a career.

As a venture, Sinali lets the heart rule over head most of the times. Rooted in conservation, Sinali pursues sustainable business practices and develops experience and tourism products that are respectful of the environment and indigenous communities in which they operate. This is a community for folks who seek a life of unbound adventures.

If we pause to listen to the earth, we discover a paradise in its earthly form.

Team Sinali

Between them they have travelled the world, taken long hard roads, collected experiences and earned life lessons. The one that particularly stayed with them was that the road less travelled makes for extremely rewarding experiences.

Durgesh Singh is the co-founder of Sinali Experiences

Durgesh Singh

From interpreting reserve forests & biospheres, to photographing, reporting new findings in the wild, Durgesh aka DK has been working as a Naturalist & Tour Leader over nearly two decades. His adventures have been across South Africa, Bhutan, India including Pench, Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Panna, Satpura, Jawai, Chambal, Tadoba, Bharatpur, Ranthambore, Kaziranga, Ladakh, Kabini, Eravikulam, Periyar and Chitwan in Nepal. Trained by Taj Safaris (a JV between IHCL and &Beyond South Africa), he was the Head Naturalist for Banjaar Tola, Kanha before he led numerous tours and expeditions for World Wildlife Journeys, Nature Trek UK and NatGeo Expeditions. A BTech. (IT), keen foodie, and collector of books, he has had an early stint as a software engineer with Satyam Computers. Love for wildlife & travel prevailed as he turned entrepreneur with Sinali Experiences. The first venture of Sinali would be a unique Safari Bio-lodge in Kanha.

Sunny Saxena is the co-founder of Sinali Experiences

Sunny Saxena

Working in large metros, Sunny never thought of making his home in the wilderness of Kanha. But after working crazy hours in the world of IT for nearly two decades, it took a small push, a few twists and turns to leave all that and head out on this wanderlust journey teaming up with his childhood buddy who had been bitten by the wild adventure bug a bit earlier. Before starting Sinali, Sunny had spent a majority of his time building New York based Customer Experience Company, Sprinklr's MVP and then went on to build its Infrastructure and Operations team. An avid gamer, you can often catch him talking at length and obsessing over storylines and characters. When asked if his move was premediated, he simply says that it happened like his mentor once said. “It’s all written in the stars.” That his star sighting trips in his 4X4 would be best experienced at Kanha, now seems like an epiphany as he builds out this new venture with Durgesh.

Anand Sinha

Anand started at the Wildlife Institute of India tracking collared tigers in Ranthambore and then moved onto being a game ranger for four years in Southern Africa. He trained at Bhejane Nature Training in Kwazulu Natal, and worked at Manyoni Private Game Reserve. After a couple of years back in India working across premier lodges, he turned entrepreneur with Overland Expeditions India. This is when he decided to join the Sinali team and come back to what he calls the most fascinating landscape – the heart of India’s Tigerland, Kanha.

Our Communities, Earth Keepers & Partners

Sinali Experiences as the name says it all, is all about experiences. It’s something that they believe is at the heart of the primeval urge amongst all of us to be one with nature. And it, they insist is not just a company, but a community first– a community of keepers, community of nemophiles, dendrophiles, xylophiles, and forest lovers.

Working with local communities, sharing the unspoken stories of the wild, preserving the sanctity of the local, Sinali Experiences is a journey best experienced in person.

These are adventures far removed from concrete corner rooms and office cubicles. This is not a 9 to 6, snug, predictable and boring corporate culture that eats away at the sheer experience of life. But rather one that rewards adventures and less taken roads.
